Thin rigid endoscopes (borescopes)
Application:
- Visual inspection of objects accessible only through holes of a
small diameter
(1 … 6 mm);
- Organization of hidden observation.

- Defectoscopy of internal cavities in machine components;
- Technical diagnostics of various units and assemblies without
disassembling such as cylinders of car engines, gear reducers,
collecting channels, lock mechanisms; diagnostics of turbine blades
of compressors and aircraft engines;
|
 |
- Hidden observation over objects when performing special investigations;
- Search of tabs and hiding places;
- As small-sized objective lenses attached to stationary video
observation systems.

Borescopes consist of an integrated fiber-optic bundle
for illumination of a working zone band, a gradient
optics system for
image transmission, and an eyepiece section with diopter adjustment.
Endoscope layout

Borescopes are different in diameter and length
of the thin working section.
Working diameters are in the range from 0.8
mm to 5 mm. The minimum working diameter is 0.6 mm (for the model without
the integrated illuminating
lightguide).
Length of the thin working section – from 30mm to 300 mm.
Viewing directions:
- 0° - straight vision;
- 30°, 70°, 90° - side vision.

The main operating parameters of borescopes are specified when ordering.

Extra-thin endoscopes (microendoscopes)
Replaceable working section with build-in illumination. An outer
diameter is 1 mm
Microendoscopes are notable for very small diameters
of the working section (up to 1 mm).
The minimum achievable diameter (without build-in illumination)
is only 0.6 mm!
Due to very small sizes of formed images the microendoscope
can not have the eyepiece section. As a rule, the images are seen in
a TV format with the aid of a miniaturized video camera or video-glasses.
